Wanted to make a really quick post on some of my favorite products of this month/ last month! Most of them are lip products! 

So today I went shopping and brought a few little things which I'd like to share with you!

• According to Bobbi Brown, choose a lipstick that is like the natural shade of your lips, but a few shades darker, if your lips are PALE, choose a lip colour that is beige,sandy, or pale pink. If your lips are a MEDIUM lip tone, use browns and rosy colours. DARK lips can pull of mulled wine,raisin,chocolate and blackberry colours. 

• Choose the colour depending on the time of day, example: stick to berry glosses in the day, then a burgundy colour for evenings and nights to intensify the look.

• Your skin tone affects your lip colour choice as well as your original lip colour, if you have an english rose colour skin tone, avoid an orangey brown lipstick, and if you have olive skin- avoid girly pinks! 

• Women with fair skin, look better in shades like nudes,apricots,pinks,light corals.

• REDS,DEEP PLUMS,CHOCOLATES + DARK SKIN TONES = YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND. Seriously. I envy those who can pull of these colours. "Women with dark skin can go in one of two directions: Toward brown or purple. Think caramel or walnut for day, and plum or wine for evening" - Allure's / Confessions of a beauty editor.

• If you have THIN lips, stay away from dark shades as they will just show of the thinness of them,creamy lighter/medium shades of lipsticks or tinted lipglosses are your best bet as they will add plumpness!

• How to pick the right shade of red? It's all about the undertones of your skin. Pink-skinned? Go for cherry reds. Olive skinned? Fire engine red. Dark skinned? Deep reds. 

• Don't match lips to your outfit!

• If you don't want to go full on out with a red lipstick, use a red lip stain or a tinted balm for a more subtle sweet look!

• If you are Asian - go for a glossy peach lipgloss or something with a coral tint! Middle eastern? Nude colours will look amazing on you,it will give a gorgeous contrast! Native Americans, you will have a more warm tone,so a copper tone will look beautiful. If you are Indian, orange looks lovely, as well as pinks and reds:)

Just wanted to make another post to rave about how lovely and intricate it is! It's in the colour Rose Gold (you could get it in that colour, Gold, or silver) and I really just wanted to recommend the site to everyone as it is literally hands down my now favourite jeweler! Everything on the website is positively gorgeous and charming, and if I had the money I really would purchase everything. Going to insert some pictures below of things I'm looking to save up for from them^.^

Wanted to make a post on the makeup I'll probably wear on Valentines day! So here it is, a super quick run down on how I will wear my makeup and hair!

Firstly, I prime my skin with my Garnier perfect blur, then I used my Maybelline dream satin liquid foundation using a stippling brush from ELF(Brushes I use shown in image on the right) , to make sure it is completely blended into my skin, sometimes I will use my fingers after quickly if some parts are not blended as much.

Depending on dark circles, I used Garnier's caffeine roll on anti dark circles! Then sometimes I will use a concealer, usually the Dream Matte concealer from maybelline:)
I set everything with a pressed powder, then used my MUA shimmer kisses quad blush on the apples of my cheeks.

Moving onto brows, I'll usually use an angled brush and a light brown/medium brown eyeshadow just to fill them in, but recently I have been using a pencil just to fill in the ends. Then I'll use a brow gel to make sure they stay in place!

For my eyes for Valentines day, I decided to first use Calvin Kleins cream eyeshadow in 'Bare Silk' and use my ring finger to cover my whole eye lid, then I took a champagne colour for the first quarter of my eye on an eyeshadow brush, then using a light pink/salmon eyeshadow, I blended that in with the champagne, then I'll go again with a darker pink on the outer corners of my eye and blend everything in to make it look smoother and a softer finish to get rid of any harsh lines! Finally, for eyeshadow, I will take a dark brown and blend that in to the crease of my eyelid to give a little drama!

For eyeliner, starting from the middle of my eye, I made a small/medium thickness line and winged it out a little. Then I curled my eyelashes and used a few coats of mascara on the top and bottom lashes! And finally, for lips, I used Rimmels moisture renew in the shade Rose shimmer, then put a little pink lip balm over the top to finish.






This look is really pretty! It's really hard to explain how I put on makeup through writing! But I tried my best!

In a few days I'm going to make a post with an idea I have come up with for makeup/hair/outfit for valentines day, but today I'm going to just post some pictures that I have seen around which I think will be really cute for valentines day! ❤ I think the colour pink is always perfect on valentines, whatever shade, whether it's the darkest or palest! Whether it's a light shade on your eyelid, or a bright pink top or skirt! It's a very girly, pretty and feminine colour I think, and I think Valentines day is a day where women and girls bring out their natural beauty with these warm toned colours and show their femininity!

In a way, I always wondered, and still wonder, why pink and red are actually associated with Valentines day, I even looked it up! I find the actual description as to why pretty interesting, and a very lovely way of looking at it, even with science!

Pink makes us crave sugar. Out of all the colours pink is the sweetest (cakes are supposed to taste sweeter if served up on pink plates!).

Pink has a calming effect. It causes the hypothalamus to signal the adrenal glands to slow their secretions, thus reducing heart rate and blocking anger (Science Digest). It’s used in some prisons to diffuse aggressive behaviour. This effect has been used in sport. Sport’s teams sometimes paint the locker room, to be used by their opposing teams, pink to neutralise them! Some studies of the colour pink suggest that male weightlifters seem to lose strength in pink rooms."

Along with this, I really love making an effort even if I'm not going out anywhere special too, it's fun and I don't think anyone (especially if you don't have a partner) should stay in, sulking and drowning their forever alone attitude with icecream and romcoms, at least do it with a bunch of your single friends! Have a girly day out shopping, have a coffee date, go for a run, do something, that at the end of the day, will make you look back on the day as fun or productive!

Saying that, this year, for the first time, will be a valentines day that I actually have a boyfriend, which is quite special for me! I'm sure there are lots of you experiencing this too, which is rather exciting, even if you don't do anything remotely special! ❤

So today me and my boyfriend decided to do some baking! And for a while I've been eager to try making 'nutella brownies' after seeing them on MacBarbie07's youtube video, although I didn't follow her recipe, I went searching about online and in recipe books to see if I could find any other recipe! Here's a picture of the 'final' product if you like, of our brownie/cake!


It doesn't look the most appetizing in this picture, but I can assure you 100% that it tastes divine! Went back for another cheeky piece as did my Dad,brother and my boyfriend! We topped it off with a layer of chocolate frosting and walnuts { sadly I didn't get a picture, obviously too eager to devour it before photographing it! }
~ I call it the 'nutella brownie cake' because it seemed only one half of it had come out like a brownie, and the top of  it just seemed to be pure cake! A bit like a marble cake! ~


♡ NUTELLA BROWNIE CAKE RECIPE ♡

INGREDIENTS 
~ 175g softened butter
~ 175g golden caster sugar
~ 3 eggs
~ 200g self-raising flour
~ 1 tsp baking powder
~ 4 tbsp milk
~ 4 rounder tbsp of Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread (we used Asda's own- so much better for price and tastes the same!)
~ Walnuts (no specified amount, just use however much you prefer!) 

♡  Preheat the oven to 180C/gas 4/fan 160C. Butter and line a base of a 9" square tin or any tin you would like to use- the original recipe was for a cake of about 20cm round tin, but as we wanted a more brownie looking turnout, we went for something smaller! (we also used a silicone 'tin' as it was a lot easier to remove the cake from after!)
♡ Put the butter, sugar,eggs,flour,baking powder,cinnamon and milk into a bowl. Beat with a wooden spoon for 2-3 minutes (until light and fluffy) OR use an electric whisk! (We went with the good old manual way, but I'd recommend using an electric whisk- a lot more effective and less time consuming! - unless you have a man in the house!) 
♡ Tip 3/4 of the mixture into the tin, then spread it level, then spoon the Nutella on in four blobs (we went overboard with about 6 blobs, but hey ho! Chocoholics are us!) Top it off with the remaining quarter of the mixture, then swirl the mixture so the Nutella binds in until the mixture looks somewhat marble like! Finally, smooth the mixture all over! 
♡ Sprinkle the top with walnuts, then bake for 1 hour to 1 hour and 10 minutes (for ours, we cooked for about 50 minutes as it seemed ready! Just keep cooking and checking on it, then use a cocktail stick when checking, and stick it into parts of the cake - if the cocktail stick comes out clean, it's probably ready!)

Crazy how this year is already taking it's toll, a month in already! I'm going to show you some of my favourite products and items from last month and give a quick review on them! :)

My first favourite of the month is a ring I received for Christmas from my wonderful boyfriend, it says 'I love you to the moon and back' and if I'm honest, I had asked him for it before hand so it was no surprise as such, although when I did open it, I was delighted at the quality and intricate details of the ring! I'm obsessed with it, it's very sweet and I could wear it with any outfit no doubt!

 Another favourite of mine this month has to be a Barry M nail varnish, one of the 'textured nail effect' ones, in the shade Duchess it's a very pretty pink colour, and because it is textured, it seems to dry ever so quickly which is a bonus for me as I'm pretty much the most impatient nail painter ever!

 Another definite beauty favourite I've had this month has to be something I've actually only brought today, I suppose it's not a beauty favourite as such but it is the N-SPA body mists, a lot of my friends have purchased these and I'm always the one borrowing them as they just smell divine! Very fresh and they seem to last a long time! They had an offer on them today in a supermarket, 2 for £4 whereas usually they are £3 each. I got the scents Vanilla and Raspberry.
