I've recently started up a brand spanking new blog with my friend, also called Chloe! Go give it a follow and comment if you wish! Or just check it out, much appreciated! http://twochloesoneblog.blogspot.co.uk/
First I'll start with the products I most use on my face and I'll give you a quick run down review of each and why I use it for these seasons!
- MUA - Mosaic Blush - 2.50 - I love love love this blusher for how inexpensive it is, when I first saw MUA products I assumed they wouldn't be great as they were very cheap, but after trying their lipsticks and eye-liners I generally liked the quality and consistency. I'm always a bit wary about skin products that are cheap as I had a bad experience once before using pound lands own foundation which brought me out in a massive skin rash and I couldn't wear makeup at all for like a few weeks which was a nightmare! So really I was conscious about purchasing MUA'S powders but I thought I would give it a go anyway! These products are actually really lovely and the blush is a very subtle pink shimmer which is lovely for the winter as my skin goes quite pale and colourless and this just warms my face up gently again!
- MUA- Bronzer - 1.00 - This bronzer is really great if you want to lightly warm/brown your skin but contour also. I wanted a matte bronzer and this pretty much matte but I think there is a very little amount of shimmer which is okay, I do try to build this up very lightly rather than put it all on at once as it is very easy to get to much on the brush!
- T-ZONE Anti Blemish BB Cream and Spot Zapping Gel - I have known about the brand T-Zone for so long now, I remember my older brother using a lot of the gels and creams and face washes a lot when he was in his teens and apparently it was really great for acne and blemishes. When I first used it I wasn't really that impressed or understood the hype for it as to me it didn't really help my skin at all! So I shifted to other brands but recently I saw they had a BB cream and I wanted to give it a go. My first impressions is that it is EXTREMELY liquidy, just tip the bottle onto it's lid and the product pours out and has like a milkshake kind of consistency (the best way I can describe it! ;) ) I immediatley thought that this was not going to have any coverage because of this but surprisingly a little goes a long way.. as I found out the hard way! It doesn't have a massive amount of coverage, but for days where my skin is looking better without foundation this substitutes really well!
- RIMMEL MATCH PERFECTION FOUNDATION - I don't think I can say a lot about this foundation! I've been using it and re-buying it on and off for the past year or two because it just is a great foundation! It's one of those foundations that hasn't got anything spectacular about it, but it has nothing wrong with it either which makes it one of my staples!
- I tend to use quite a few brushes for my makeup but these are the main ones I use! Real techniques expert face brush (do I even need to begin on how great this brush is?!) And then two newer brushes which I purchased from TK MAXX and they are the Elite Models Powder brush (#48) and the I ON beauty Angled blusher brush. I'm not sure how popular or well known these brands are but I haven't heard of those two before, but the brushes are amazing quality and the hairs haven't fallen out at all and the brushes are really great at picking up the product easily so I don't have to keep rubbing the brush to pick more up. I think these brushes were about six pounds each!
- For my face/eyes are these little pots of joy! Calvin klein cream eyeshadows! These were an absolute bargain buy from poundland! I know, crazy! I re-bought a few of these to keep me going in case the stock ran out (I don't think they sell them anymore! :( ) and they are just great! These are the first cream eyeshadow's I had used and they are quite sheer if you just apply with you finger but I have started to use a dome eyeshadow brush which picks up a lot of more of the product! They are in the shades sheer nectar and vintage metal and I have been using them a lot more recently because they are quite sparkly which is lovely for coming in to the festive season! They also work as a great primer for any other eyeshadows.
- Finally, makeup wise, I have been loving my Naked 3 palette (Who would have guessed!) as it has so many sparkly golds and darker colours which are lovely for transitioning into winter!
- My lips have been getting very chapped as it is getting colder and I'm so bad for forgetting to put lip balms on before I go out as I find the best ones are very annoying and sticky and so obvious to look at! So I have started using the Clinique chubby sticks, these are great lip balms which have very sheer colour which is great because it doesn't matter what kind of makeup you're rocking as it tends to just go with whatever! The balms are very moisturising but I sometimes find I have to re apply them regularly which may be irritating for some!
- I have definitely become very attached to winging out my eye-liner recently and it's something I do everyday now as I think it just makes my eye's pop! I find winged eye-liner most easiest with the pen versions and I previously used Eyeko skinny liquid eyeliner which was great but it dried up with in a few weeks! I tried to find one similar and maybe with a pointier tip and I came across Asda's own George precision felt tip liner! It's long lasting and so easy to apply and I have a feeling it's going to be something I repurchase once it's used up!
- Some other little things just to finish this post of is hair/hand/skin care wise! I use a lot of heat on my hair in the winter more than I do the rest of the year, especially nearer Christmas, I find I curl my hair and straighten it rather than scrunch it with mousses or sea salt like I would when it's warmer! And so I wanted to find hair products that would protect my hair, I have so many different heat protections and I found these were the best! - Schwartzkopf gliss liquid silk- I find this best for curling as it just makes the curls so shiny and lovely! And my holy grail of this year (not even an understatement) is the Loreal Paris studio hot smooth cream! This stuff is the bomb! It's like a cream which you take a walnut size and smooth it in to the ends and mid lengths of your hair, leave for about 10 minutes to dry, then straighten! It protects and creates shine, but the best bit is it makes my hair stay dead straight for that day, and the day after! It's insane and has to be one of the best hair products I've come across in my opinion.
- I also have started using hair oils, I'm really trying to re nourish my hair and stop split ends and so I've been using Mellor and Russell's argan shine hair oil, you only need a little and it's really helping to tame the frizz of my hair as well as conditioning.
- The frosted cranberry hand cream is something I mentioned in my last post from my little Body Shop haul, I've been using it pretty much every day and my hands are lot more smooth and not getting dry at all! Not to mention the very lovely festive smell it has!
- Finally, I've been using a lot of Derma V10's bio oils and creams recently as I can get quite bad skin on my back and it really brings me down, especially as I used to wear a lot of dresses and vest tops which are backless, and in the summer- bikinis, it's a real stab to my confidence, not to mention extremely irritating and the bio oil is literally the only thing which has helped it and I've seen a lot of results and it's really helping my skin! I also use it on my face at night too, and in the morning my skin is always radiant and glowing because of it! It's going to be a fab product to use over the winter for if I get chapped skin in the cold!
I've just realised I've written a hell of a lot for this post! Makes up for my lack of posting I guess! But there you have all my winter and autumn staple products!
Hope you enjoyed this post! What are you go-to products in the winter?:)
I am subscribed to 3 magazines, Vogue, Glamour and Marie Claire.
I must admit the reason I have subscriptions to these magazines were because they were on offer for a year's worth of issues, but also because I do love reading them, Glamour especially! And I tend to stock up on the vogues and make mood boards and whatnot out of them or use them for my GCSE Photography & Art books.
I am also a sucker for the sachets and samples they put into the magazines, I always rely on new perfume samples which are almost always sneakily inside, but I get (sadly) excited over when there are foundation or moisturizer samples, (don't deny you don't too-).
And even better when you get real makeup out of it. That's just the sugar coating to the doughnut really. ^.^
This months magazines led to me to having about 3 perfume samples (Issey Miyake - L'eau D'Issey, Thierry Mugler - Alien,Calvin Klein- Endless Euphoria) , a 25% off in H&M voucher (in stores only), a smashbox foundation and a garnier moisturizer. Aren't I feeling like a lucky ducky! And then, I have gained a mascara too! This is the ModelCo Fibre LASHXTEND. I am excited to try this, although I have been looking at reviews for it and they aren't particularly fabulous but hopefully I'll be able to bring some positivity to the product!
Anyhow, I better actually read these magazines rather than ogle over the free goodies!
Thanks for reading,
So today I went shopping and brought a few little things which I'd like to share with you!
Have you got any of these products? Comment what you think of them!
Thankyou for reading lovelies!

First is this gorgeous phone case, this was actually from poundland which I'm sooo thrilled that I got it for so cheap! It's for Iphone 4/4S and you slide it onto your phone in 6 pieces, which makes it easy to take on and of, (I have a nightmare with trying to get phone cases on and off iphones- forever ruining Nails whilst doing so!) and plus each piece is a different shade of pink which gives this gorgeous wave of colours yay!
The brand of the case is Case Mate.

The next things I purchased are Sally Hansens Sugar Coat nail varnish, in the shade 2000 Sugar Fix, and Revlon Nail Art Neon. The Sugar coat is realllly pretty as it's a textured nail paint, and when you first apply it to the nails, it doesn't look that textured, but when it dries, it literally looks like little sugar grains on your nails which I think is super cute!
( £6.99 - http://www.boots.com/en/Sally-Hansen-Sugar-Coat-Special-Effect-Textured-Nail-Colour_1358635/ )
The duo nail art nail varnish from Revlon is really handy I find, as it's two nail varnishes in one, the packaging I find makes it so much easier to apply the nail varnish, and I really adore the colour I got it in! (100 Atomic Pink) All the shades come with white on the other end, I'm not really into nail art and so and so but I just find having two nail varnishes in one is pretty handy!
( £7.99 - http://www.boots.com/en/Revlon-Nail-Art-Neon_1312128/ )
Another thing I purchased was Astor's perfect stay transfer-proof lip stain and care in the shade 103 rosewood blush. I've never used a lip stain pen before so I was pretty eager to buy this! I couldn't decide on a colour but I thought this rosy plum colour might suit my skin tone so I went ahead and got it, I can't say what it's like yet as I am yet to try it as my lips are dry and chapped at the moment because its cold and the stain will emphasize that more which I don't want! I will post a review of it soon though! Here's a swatch of the colour, it's quite dark but I think if you apply it lightly will look very pretty and glam!

Wanted to make a post on eye colours/skin tones and what eye shadows I think will compliment them the most! It's hard to choose the right eyeshadow sometimes, even if you safely stick to one, I think its good to be brave as well and step outside the comfort zone, choosing something completely different, as long as you don't end up looking like a clown, or someone with a sore eye!
BROWN EYES?
Most eye shadows luckily suit a lot of brown eyes, but however your skin tone will effect as eyeshadow will look different on say someone with very tan skin, compared to someone with very pale skin. Personally, I think for brown eyes, plums and purples look really beautiful, as long as dark circles are well covered, as it could bring out the circles worse. My favourite colour on brown eyes are emerald greens and navy blues, even only if you're adding a touch of it to the top or bottom lash line to open up the eye, a bright earthy colour will always make a dark eye stand out, and will make the whites of your eyes brighter.
I think SMOKEY EYES are great on people with brown eyes, whether it's a soft smokey eye, or heavy, it can look very sultry or romantic and really blends in well with the softness of the brown colour within the eye, whereas if you have blue eyes and a smokey eye- the look is a lot more sharp and pristine looking, equally as beautiful, but I don't think it has the same softness as the colour contrast is a lot more obvious:)
Other colours that I think compliment brown eyes: coppers, rusty brown/reds, golds, green golds, rose golds, champagne (for the inner half of the eye to brighten), dark cherry colours(cerise), dark pinks and light pinks (perfect for a date/valentines).
BLUE EYES?
For blue eyes, usually rich browns, taupes, soft orangey peachy colours and dark greys really create a beautiful contrast between the blue flecks and the eye shadow. Some shades of green can look unflattering and blue on blue ( usually using a blue similar to your eye colour ) I think can be a bit distracting and won't compliment as well. It can detract from your natural colour, however using the colour in the outer corner of the eyes like a dark blue, can bring a nice intensity and will highlight a lighter blue eye colour.
I think, for blue eyes, covering the eye in a champayne/light gold colour then going in the inner corners and crease with a darker bronze colour and blending adds a very pretty girly, yet could be formal look to the eye. And if you use a dark brown eyeliner on the top lashline to make your lashes look thicker instead of eyeliner to finish, it is a lot more natural:)
Colours that compliment: Gold, bronze, copper, champagne, yellow-beige, peach
GREEN AND HAZEL?
For green and hazel eyes, I think the best colours to use are golden honey browns, warm taupes, purples ( mainly deep ) pinky and rose golds, and soft violets. It brings a really nice contrast to the eye and compliments the iris colour. For Hazel, look for the flecks of natural colour in your pupils, a grape/wine purple will bring out the greens, and help the eye pop.
For green and hazel eyes (I envy you, I would love green eyes!) I think as long as you stick so lighter colours for a day to day basis and darkening the creases and creating smokey eyes using darker browns in the evening, you can achieve a lot of beautiful looks for green and hazel eyes! I also think a little catflick with black glossy eyeliner creates such a cute contrast between the iris and the eyelid!
Colours that compliment: Grape/wine purples, rose golds, pink golds, taupes, browns, soft violets.

Thanks for reading! In regards to this most I am in no way saying this is the right way to use eyeshadows, this is just my opinion and what I like:)
